For generations, over 300 residents relied on unsafe sources—digging into sandy soil, collecting murky water, and hoping it wouldn’t bring illness. Children missed school. Families lived under the constant shadow of waterborne disease.
But on April 10, 2025, everything changed.
Thanks to a fully-funded clean water initiative by Canada Virtuous Women (CAVIWO) and carried out by CAVIWO Women Empowerment Organisation Nigeria, a functional well was installed at the heart of the community. With just a short walk, families can now fill their containers with clean, safe water—no longer a luxury, but a new standard of living.
